Our story
Mei needed a pair of pasties.
Not a difficult ask, we thought. She had an outfit, she had an event, and she had a very specific idea of what she wanted them to look like. What she found instead was a category that had decided, collectively, that everyone is the same size.
One size. Every brand. And on the rare occasion a larger option existed, it wasn't a size you could pick — it was a different product, with a different name, at a higher price. You could have more coverage, as long as you paid extra for it.
So we started making them ourselves. Badly, at first, on a kitchen table in Southern California, with a cutting mat and more ruined fabric than either of us would like to admit.
The first real decision we made is the one this company still runs on: three sizes, one price. Not because it was clever positioning — we hadn't thought that far — but because charging Mei more for a bigger size was the exact thing that had annoyed us into starting.
We still cut everything by hand, to order. Nothing sits in a warehouse. When you order a pair, someone makes that pair.
