How to Wear Nipple Pasties: Styling, Layering and Lasting All Night

You've got the pasties. Now what do you actually wear them with?

This is the part that trips people up — not the buying, the styling. Pasties are one of the few accessories that can read as the whole outfit or as a small detail depending entirely on what's around them. Here's how to make that choice on purpose.

Solo, or layered?

Solo

The boldest version and the simplest. Pasties, bottoms, and everything else is jewellery and boots. This works best when the pasties are doing something graphic — a strong shape in a strong colour, so the eye reads it as a deliberate design element rather than as coverage.

If it's your first time going this route, a smaller, tighter shape tends to feel more wearable than a large one. You can always go bigger next time.

Under sheer or mesh

The most versatile option and the one most people end up wearing most. A mesh top over pasties changes the whole register — it reads as styled rather than exposed, and it gives you something to take off or put back on as the night and the temperature change.

Two things to know: dark mesh mutes colour, so holographic and iridescent finishes lose most of their effect underneath it. If you're layering under something dark, go for high-contrast — Holographic White, Ice Blue, or a strong Volcano Red. And a tighter mesh weave will flatten the pasty against you, which is generally what you want.

Under an open jacket or harness

The easiest way to wear pasties if you want an exit route. A harness, a bralette frame, or an unbuttoned shirt gives structure around them and means you can adjust how much is on show as the night goes.

Building the rest of the look

A few pairings that consistently work:

  • Body chains and layered jewellery — draws the eye vertically and stops the pasties reading as the only thing happening.
  • High-waisted bottoms — the proportion does a lot of work. Low-rise plus pasties is a harder look to balance.
  • Face gems and glitter — pulls attention upward. Match the finish, not necessarily the colour: holographic gems with holographic pasties, matte with matte.
  • Platform boots — the classic counterweight. Adds height and stops the whole outfit sitting in one register.

Matching your look to the night

  • Daytime main stage — lighting is flat and unforgiving, so finish matters less than shape and colour contrast. Solid colours photograph better in daylight than holographics.
  • Night sets — this is where holographic, iridescent and neon earn their place. Moving stage lighting makes them move too. The EDC collection is built for exactly this.
  • Afters — smaller, darker rooms and closer quarters. Afters leans into that.
  • Not a rave at all — photoshoots, themed parties, costume nights, or under a sheer top on a normal evening out. Beyond is the collection for when you want the effect without the festival context.

Making them last the whole night

Styling only matters if they stay on.

  • Clean, dry skin. No lotion, no oil, no glitter underneath. Anything between the adhesive and your skin costs you hours.
  • Press from the centre outward and hold for 30 seconds. Body heat helps the bond set.
  • Don't reposition repeatedly. Every peel costs tack. Place once, deliberately.
  • Apply before anything else — before glitter, before body chains, before you've got three layers on. Trying to fix a lifting edge through a harness at 1am is not a good time.

Ours use a medical-grade, latex-free adhesive rated for 8–12 hours, sweatproof and waterproof. They're single use — fresh adhesive every time is what keeps them stuck for a whole night and what keeps your skin comfortable. Bring a fresh pair for each day of a multi-day event.

Taking them off

Slowly, and at an angle rather than straight out. Warm water or a warm shower softens the adhesive and makes it painless. If your skin is sensitive, taking them off in the shower is the easy answer.

The confidence part

There's no styling trick for this, so we'll be direct about it: the thing that makes pasties work is wearing them like you meant to. That's easier when they fit properly — when there's no edge lifting, no gap, nothing you're checking on every twenty minutes. Fit is what buys you the freedom to stop thinking about it and dance.

Which is the whole point. PLUR isn't a slogan we print on things — unity and respect mean every body gets the same options at the same price. That's why we make true Small, Medium and Large, and why all three cost $12.
